[KPOP] ‘BIGBANG Alive Tour 2012 In Japan’ Special Final in Dome has Confirmed

BIGBANG has announced the addition of ‘BIGBANG Alive Tour 2012 In Japan’ Special Final in Dome

and this will be BIGBANG’s first “Dome concert” tour ever!

Big Bang will hold their first Japanese ‘Dome concert’ on November 23rd at the Osaka Kyocera Dome,

and on December 5th at the Tokyo Dome!BIGBANG was scheduled to hold 10 performances for the Alive World Tour around 5 cities in Japan. However, due to much demand, Big Bang decided to add the Dome concerts in addition to their tour dates.

It seems like BIGBANG will attract 255,000 fans in Japan and total 605,000 fans from all over the world. Meanwhile, BIGBANG has kicked off their tour in Japan today (May 17th) with the first stop being Nagoya.

[JPOP] EXILE’s AKIRA to replace Akanishi Jin for “GTO”

On 4th May, it is known that EXILE’s performer AKIRA (30) has been named to replace Akanishi Jin(27) as the main character for upcoming “Great Teacher Onizuka (GTO)” remake drama. The series drama is going to be aired in July on Fuji TV channel. It is a  remake of the hit drama”GTO” starring Sorimachi Takashi in 1998. Kansai TV will produce the drama and set to air for Tuesday 10pm slot. According to the official staffs, and also the strong will of the original author, AKIRA fits the role as he has the wild aura in him that is close to the main character of the manga.

Previously, Akanishi had been decided for the role before his sudden marriage to actress, Kuroki Meisa (23) in February. As the penalty for not letting know the marriage to his agency, Johnny’s Entertainment decided to cancel his nationwide tour, and to drop him from the “GTO” remake drama. At the end of March, Kansai TV acknowledged about it and continue to do re-casting.

Meanwhile, AKIRA made his serious actor debut through drama and movie in 2008. Last year, he took the role in NHK Taiga drama “Gou~Princess of War” as the second husband and first love of Princess Gou, Toyotomi Hidekatsu and received a good response for his acting. In 2009, he starred as the main role for a movie  by a genius director, Sono Shion, “Be Sure to Share” and received attention from the movie entertainment world. This drama will be his first time as the main role. His further growth as an actor is something to look forward to.

[KPOP] Big Bang Becomes First Asian Artist to Win ′Best Fan′ Award at 2012 MTV TRL Awards

Big Bang became the first Asian artist to win the ‘Best Fan’ category at the 2012 MTV TRL Awards.

The event, which was held in Italy on the evening of May 5, awarded Big Bang as the final winners of the night.

Other nominees of the ‘Best Fan’ category included Avril Lavigne and One Direction, but they were no match for Big Bang, who became the first artists in Asia to ever snag the award.

The ‘Best Fan’ award is selected by fan all around the world by online votes.

Big Bang stated through YG Entertainment, “We are extremely happy and honored to receive an award at the MTV TRL Awards. We thank our fans all around the world for cheering us on.”

Meanwhile, Big Bang will hold an arena tour in Japan starting May 17.
